You must first know for what purpose a lawyer is needed. If you are required in a metro city, then it is even more crucial. There are specialist lawyers and even super specialists. Broadly, lawyers can be classified into two categories: one practicing on the civil side and another practicing on the criminal side. On the civil side, it can be further classified, such as those who deal with property/land matters, commercial law practitioners, tax practitioners, labor law practitioners, trademark practitioners, etc.

You can also have lawyers who handle litigation and those who do not. Litigation lawyers will attend court cases and represent clients in court. Non-litigation lawyers will provide advice on the matter but will not attend court.

I hope this information is helpful to you.
