Hi,
I would like to know what the minimum salary should be for employees in an IT company that has been registered as a partnership firm. I have also heard that we have to notify a government body about the number of employees we have and that we have to pay some fees if the number of employees is less than 100, and some fees if it exceeds 100. Any proper guidance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Member,
If your establishment is covered under the list of scheduled employments under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 in any of the states where your establishment is functioning, then you are to pay minimum wages as fixed or revised by that government. You can approach your area labor office for this purpose. In general, IT companies are covered under the Shops & Establishment Act; therefore, in this case, you are to intimate the list of employees employed by you to the Shops Inspector of the area. In Haryana, we are required to deposit fees under the Shops Act for obtaining an RC under this Act. It might be possible that this fee structure may be applicable in other states.
