Dear Neelam,

XLRI offers part-time (video conferencing) lectures for a PG certificate in HR. You can visit their website at www.xlri.ac.in/satellite. This program is for 1 year.

Similarly, reputed institutes also provide PG or Executive MBA programs in HR, ranging from 1 to 2 years in duration. However, you should be prepared to dedicate yourself for a year, as the curriculum includes Economics, Finance, and mathematical equations.

I hope this information is helpful.

Regards,
Sunny

Even doing MBA-HR through distance learning from Symbiosis or any other such institute could be a good option.

In other words, ICFAI is to be discouraged. Can some one please elaborate on the reasons? The hype created by this and some other "vendors" makes one believe that they have comparable courses.

Hi Friend,

I came across the news that ICFAI is not a genuine university. I am not sure; I heard this news through my friends. If you have a desire to do an MBA, you'd better go for Symbiosis or any recognized Indian university approved by UGC and NAAC.

Hi Neelam,

You can also do it at Welingkar Institute of Management (www.welingkar.org).

Dear Dr. Singh,

Regarding your query on not pursuing a degree from ICFAI:

1. ICFAI is affiliated with Uttarakhand - the reason for this affiliation is unknown.
2. It has a connection with Sikkim - the purpose of this link is unclear.
3. Why are they not recognized by UGC or AIU (Association of Indian Universities)?
4. The university where I work does not approve an ICFAI MBA for appointments under the AICTE norms - the rationale behind this decision is unknown.
5. Why are they so expensive?
6. Why have ICFAI national colleges been closed at many locations?
7. Why are ICFAI business schools being closed at several places?
8. Strong point: They provide the best training materials and cases. Delhi and Hyderabad branches are performing exceptionally well.
9. Recommendation: Consider joining IGNOU for the best, most affordable, and excellent study materials.

Blessings,

Thank you, Dr. Ram! I had asked the question on behalf of all who have had this on their minds, seeking clarity. Upon reviewing the answers provided to the original question, you'll notice a general lack of clarity, despite each respondent's genuine interest in offering assistance.

Your response offers a comprehensive set of reasons to consider before making a decision. The clarity of thought and purpose in your explanation is evident. Thank you once again, and best regards.

MBA course from ICFAI

I understand from the professional colleagues of ICFAI Business School (IBS) that they are not operating in most of the states. They are closed. Please check with them before deciding on admission.

Better to opt for Manipal University. Still, my suggestion is, if you want to do an MBA, do it from a good institute.

NIIT and IGNOU have tied up, and they have lectures via video conferencing. NIIT and Reliance have a tie-up with IIMs, IIT, and XLRI. Symbiosis again offers distance and part-time programs (only at Pune). Welingkar in Bombay has distance learning programs. There are so many options available.
