Hi All,

I work in an IT firm in Mumbai for the past 1.4 years. I had signed a 2-year bond with the company when I joined. However, I have to leave the company as there is no growth, no appraisals whatsoever. Also, I got a new job somewhere. But when I resigned and asked for my relieving letter and experience letter, they said I cannot leave the company as I am under a bond. So now I am stuck. Also, I was provided no professional training by the company. Can you help me with this? I don't have much time left, and I don't want to continue working here.

Also, when I asked for a copy of the bond, one of the HR refused, saying it is internal to the company and cannot be given to the employee as it is with the vendor. Is this correct? Please help. Thanks in advance.

My question to you is, how can you sign a bond without knowing the terms & conditions of it? If you know the terms & conditions of the bond, then why are you asking for a copy of it from HR now? Please provide us more details about the bond for further steps.

Dear Nita,

Do not worry and go forward with the new company. As far as the bond is considered, it is not legal. The company stands no chance in the Court of Law since, as you mentioned, no cost on training was incurred on you. Check with your new company whether they are willing to take you without the relieving letter since it seems impossible for you to get the same from your current company. Concentrate on your new assignment and best of luck for the future.

Hi all,

I had been to my native place after I resigned from my company. I received a formal exit from my company with the relieving letter and experience letter. Thanks to my project manager who supported me till the end.

I appreciate all of you who listened to my problem and provided me with prompt and helpful responses. I need your help again to assist me in finding a job. The new job offer fell through, and now I am looking for work.

If there are any openings in a KPO for back office with a salary of around 18k in hand and located in Central Mumbai, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, preferably no night shifts.

Hi Guys,

I am here with my new query. Hope someone can help me out. My sister recently left a third-party BPO, which is one of the top ten BPOs in India. She left the BPO without serving a two-month notice period. However, she sent a formal resignation by email and submitted all documents to the company. Now, we received a letter from M M Legal Associates saying we have to pay 60,000 to the company, or else they will take legal action.

The funny part is that she worked there for only 2 months and earned a salary of 13,000. She did not undergo any formal training for the job. I don't know why they are asking her to pay 60,000. They have asked her to reply within 7 days, and we don't know what to do. We haven't informed our parents as they will worry about the situation. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Since your sister was on a probation period, she could leave the job at any time. Just send a reply to your employer stating, "Since I was on a probation period, I can leave at any time. For clearance of dues, kindly inform me of the time so that I can come to the company and hand over my responsibilities."

Thanks for the prompt response. Yes, she was on a probation period. There is a term mentioned in the appointment letter stating that if the employee leaves without serving the notice period, they will take the money in lieu of salary, and so on.

In the legal notice, it is mentioned that 'Our client, due to such abrupt, sudden termination of your services, has suffered grave loss, harm, and injury.' What does this mean?

Additionally, what does 'No Dues' mean?

Do you think we should write an email to the TL of my sister for a no-dues certificate from the company? She does not need any relieving letter or experience certificate.
