Hi - I would like to understand how you deal with alcohol in the workplace - either coming to work under the influence of alcohol or consuming alcohol in the workplace.. I would be keen to understand how IT / ITES companies address this issue and what kind of disciplinary action is taken..

I do not think that any establishment will allow any one to report to duty after consuming alcoholic drinks or permit consumption of alcoholic drinks while on duty. If found under the influence of drinks, disciplinary action including dismissal from service shall be initiated against the employee. Therefore, if found drinking on duty, take him to hospital and take tests to prove that he was intoxicated and follow action.
