Understanding Maternity Benefits Entitlement Based on Number of Children - CiteHR

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if maternity benefits can be extended for the birth of how many children and where it is mentioned? I have gone through the act but I am unable to find any provision stating that a female employee can only avail maternity benefits for the birth of two children. Could any senior provide the rule or section where this information is specified?

Yes, it is not mentioned in the Act on number of children. Can any one cite the relevant provision?

Hi to all,

If we go through all of the benefits that are given to every employee in the IT Act or Government Notifications, we observe that the benefits are given to the employee having up to 2 children. Hence, maternity benefits shall be given up to 2 children only. Thereafter, no leave or benefits shall be granted.

Can you cite any notifications? Although I have gone through some notifications, they seem to be applicable only to Central government employees or government employees.

Dear all,

Maternity benefits do not depend on the number of children. These benefits are provided regardless of the number of children. Both the Maternity Act and ESI Act do not limit benefits based on the number of children.
