Silence is the mother of all skills.
When you lack some skill, sit quietly for a moment.
Then that part of the brain becomes active, that can give you intuition and ideas.
Silence is the mother of all skills, innovations, and inventions.

A few moments of quietness is the first step.

Take a step away from the situation.

When you are in a situation, you cannot be a good judge – you have to step out of the situation for a minute and look at it.

Through quietness: you will gain the skill right there!:icon5:

Dear Sharmaji,

Love!

I understand that there is a difference between silence and quietness. Quietness means to keep the mouth shut and have no dialogue. Silence, on the other hand, means to keep the mind shut as well, with no monologues or thinking. You may have observed that even when we are not speaking, our minds are constantly active, with thoughts and monologues persisting throughout our waking hours. During sleep at night, our dreams take over this thinking and monologue.

At times, these monologues may continue into our dreams, transforming into dialogues, especially when the situation is beyond our control. You may have heard people talking or even shouting in their sleep. Scientists suggest that a healthy individual only experiences around 4 minutes of actual sleep during a 6 to 8-hour period of rest. Throughout the day, our minds are constantly active, rarely finding a moment of true stillness. Achieving a state of complete mental silence is where true creativity lies, serving as the foundation for all inventions.

This does not imply that all inventions occur without thought; rather, it emphasizes the incredible power of silence in providing the energy necessary to utilize our brains to their fullest potential.

In our daily lives, we often encounter problems that seem unsolvable even after much contemplation. However, stepping away from the issue for a while and revisiting it later can lead to sudden breakthroughs. This is because intense focus can narrow our perspective, causing us to overlook crucial details. By shifting our attention elsewhere and returning with a broader outlook, we often discover solutions that were previously hidden from view. This dynamic showcases the intricate workings of our minds and brains.

(Note: The brain is hardware, and the mind is software.)

Feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

It is not for offending anybody but when you refer to any dictionary for the meaning of the two words "quietness" and "silence," both mean absence of sound. It doesn't mean that the brain stops working when you are silent.

Dear Rich,

Love,

The meaning of life is not in the dictionary. To know life, you need to live it with great intensity and awareness. Also, know that words have limitations; they cannot give you any meaning. For example, when someone says, "Mango is sweet," what do you understand just by words? Hardly anything, if you have never tasted it in your life. To know the sweetness of a mango, you need to taste it. I hope this is clear to you.

Secondly, you are saying, "It doesn't mean that the brain stops working when you are silent."

My dear friend, I did not say so. I said your mind stops when you are completely silent. Understand the difference between mind and brain. Do not search the dictionary but know from your experience.

The brain is like hardware, similar to various parts of our body, which is tangible. Hence, a brain tumor can be operated on. But for a "mind tumor," no doctor can help you. The mind consists of what you have gathered and stored within you over several lives. We call it Sanskara. It works like different programs in a computer.

A child born in a Hindu family and another in a Muslim family carry different Sanskaras (programs). If someone abuses Krishna, the Hindu child will become angry, not the Muslim child. This happens because they have different programmed minds. Their brains may be the same, but their minds are not. Our minds are programmed with one or another Sanskara, which we carry into another birth. These Sanskaras or programs are active in us and influence our thought patterns and actions. The root cause of most of our problems is our programmed mind, our Sanskara. I hope this detailed answer will clarify my point of view.

His Blessings,

Sharad Shah
