Dear,

The due date for depositing PF is the 15th of the next month. However, a 5-day grace period is allowed by PF authorities. But you should not avail of that grace because if PF is deposited after the 15th, the company will not get an exemption of income tax on the PF amount.

Dear ESI is to be deposited by the 21st of next month. PF deduction is mandatory if basic+DA is less than 6500 per month at the time of joining, whereas ESI is to be deducted if the gross salary is less than 10k.

Dear Ranjini,

Please note that PF/ESI is applicable as follows:
- ESI: Gross Salary of 10,000 or less
- PF: Basic + DA of 6,500 or less

If the gross salary exceeds 10,000, ESI is not applicable, and if the Basic + DA is more than 6,500, PF is not applicable.

Dear Malik ji,

Hope you must be remembering my last mail to you wherein I had requested you to kindly guide me on how to get an exemption on PF contribution, which Authorities are forcing us to pay on OT Wages. As I said earlier, PF Authorities are framing us under section 7A for the evasion of wages for the OT payment we had made to our employees.

Or, if I have missed your reply, then please send me the response to my email address contact.harminder@gmail.com.

Dear all,

As per my knowledge on PF and ESI, yes, PF is mandatory when the Basic + DA is Rs. 6500/-, and it is not mandatory when it is more than Rs. 6500. However, certain processes need to be followed, such as a declaration that needs to be taken during the time of joining in Form 11.

Regarding overtime terms in PF, I need to check on this, but as far as I know, overtime is not computed for PF calculation.

For ESI, if it is Rs. 10,001, then there is no ESI.

Please advise if I went wrong in any aspects.

Thanks

Dear Friends,

Provident Fund:
Basic salary (B) plus Dearness Allowance (DA) and Food allowances are also considered within the purview of the PF act if they are less than 6500/- per month. Remittance should be made by the 15th of the preceding month.

E.S.I.:
Gross payment excludes Washing Expenses if it is less than 10000/- per month. Remittance should be made by the 21st of the preceding month.

Dear Friends,

We deposit EPF challan along with a cheque on the 12th of every month, but we receive the copy of the challan on the 21st or 22nd. Who is responsible for the delay, the bank or our company? Please clarify.

Dear Friend,

The due date for depositing the EPF amount is on or before the 15th of every month, but you have a five-day grace period. If you cross the grace period, you will be forced to pay penalty charges.

In your case, it is better to pay before the 10th. It will get cleared within five working days, and you can avoid the penalty charges.

Dear Sir,

Kind Attn: Mr. J.S. Malik,

I read your comments on the due date of PF. Kindly let us know the Income Tax Act in which the company will not get an exemption of income tax on PF deposited after the 15th.
