Hello Everyone,

I've been chosen to lead the recruitment team for a start-up call center. Since we're still trying to build internal capability, we thought of getting the services of a headhunter/recruitment agency to help us out. Initially, we're going to hire 5 recruiters this week.

My question is, is there a formula/computation that I can use to identify how many staff I would need within the next few months? I don't want to be hiring a lot of people in the beginning only to be overstaffed in the end. At the same time, I don't want the team to be understaffed.

I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me in this concern.

Thanks,
Diana

Little more details are needed regarding requirements. One more thing to consider is that you can try employing temporary agencies and firms. Quite often, employers can find just the right combination of skills and expertise in a prospective employee, and it allows for a type of "try before you buy" approach to staffing.

Hi Diana,
Great and good that you have guts to build team in this environment of recession. In my opinion your first need to know how much employee strength you would be targeting in this year, your goals, plans etc. Based on that pls do some Manpower Planning for your department and the organization.. If you have an organization structure in place that will really help you. But Organisation structure can only be drawn once you have your customers in pipelines and based on that revenues and so goes for the team size and structure. Incase you are targeting somewhere between 200-500 people. Your Team Size should not be more than 2-4 people in the department. If you need any more information do email me at . I will help you without expecting anything in return. My best wishes to you in advance for the success….
