Hello all, 😄
I'm really happy to share my experience of MEHFIL-E-DILLI. 😄
We are all really thankful to Sidhartha for providing us this platform, where we can all meet each other and share our knowledge.
We had a rocking time at the meet, where senior HR professionals to HR newcomers were all present.
The icebreaker went well, and everybody enjoyed it so much. Prizes were awarded for guessing the right names by Anchal, Geeti, Devjit, Manoj Sharma, Ashish, and myself. 😉
We had some senior figures present such as Mr. Manoj Sharma, Major Pandey, and Alok Goel, who shared their rich experiences and provided solutions to the queries of the HR newcomers.
The agenda for this meet was fun, and we really had a lot of fun during the meet.
The date for the next meet has been set for 12th November, keeping in mind the celebration of Diwali.
The organizing committee has been established, and the details are as follows:
- Administration Committee
- Fundraising Committee
- Finance Committee
- Overall Organizing Committee
The list of members who volunteered to be part of these committees will be posted later.
The group photograph is attached herewith, although it is not very clear.
The names from left to right are:
Back row: Alok Goel, Major Pandey, Kiran, Sughosh, Devjit, Nitin Parijaat, Saurabh.
Middle row (sitting): Manoj Sharma, Archna Khurana, Geeti, Sujata, Deepali, Sarswathi.
Front row: Mohit, Anchal, Sharmila Thakur.
The cameraman is Ashish, so he is not in the pictures.
This is just one photograph; more photographs will be posted shortly.
Hope I did not miss anything.
Cheers,
Archna

Hi All,
Thank you for all the compliments. Mehfil-e-Dilli rocked!!! The badges rocked!!! The ice-breaker rocked!!! The discussions rocked!!! It's a tremendous beginning, and we can only go from strength to strength from here. The amount of learnings I absorbed has only made me more hungry, and already I am impatient for Nov 12.
My enthusiasm knowing no bounds, I was the first to reach the venue well before time. Since the dress code was blue and white, I strolled around outside Nirula's looking for people dressed accordingly. 😛 A little while later, Archna called up, and she informed me that Geeti would also be arriving early with the stationery items. Almost immediately before that, I had spotted a girl in a perfect blue-white combo roaming around Nirula's looking fairly worried and irritated. So I went up to her and asked, "Are you from CiteHR?". She whirled round on me and snapped, "CiteHR?? What CiteHR?? I'm looking for my friend!!!"... 😄 😄
Geeti did arrive a little later. She brought a feedback chart, which we pasted on the wall, and all of us have put our thumbprints on it with fancy autographs. Archna will be handing this over to Sid when he returns, as a souvenir from Mehfil-e-Dilli. We guys in Delhi have an edge over everybody else; we can have Sid with us in our future meets... 😄 😄 😄
Rajat called during the Meet, which was a terrific surprise and a great boost to us. We really missed you, Rajat. I cannot even imagine your anguish, missing both Mehfil-e-Dilli and Drishti. Please let us know when you will be next in Delhi. We would love to meet you and interact with you.
The discussions were superb. The seniors, Mr. Manoj Sharma, Maj. Pandey added value and substance to the Meet, sharing their experiences and humorous anecdotes.
We really missed those who could not make it, and frankly I was upset at this, and Archna, our cool-headed team leader, had to keep consoling me... 😳 However, the quality of our meet was very high indeed, and the getting-to-know-each-other interactions were fun, so we are on the right track... 😛 😄
Heartiest congratulations to the 'Pioneers' of Mehfil-e-Dilli for our 1st Meet, for making it the event it was, and for promising so much more from here on...
And finally, as Archna has already said, we are thankful to Sid for this platform. We look forward to his presence in our Meets in the future.
Warm regards,
Devjit

Hi all,
Thanks a ton to all of you. This was the first HR meeting in Delhi, and it went very well. I really appreciate Archana's initiative and the efforts of a few guys for this meeting. Earlier, I just had a dream that one day all Delhi HR people would arrange this kind of meeting or not, as I have seen many times people from other cities generally hold these kinds of meetings.
I would also like to thank Mr. Sidharth and Mr. Rajat for this meeting as they helped us a lot to make this event happen, but I really missed them. Hopefully, I would be able to meet them in our next meeting. This time, no other engagements, please... :D
I will be waiting eagerly for the next meeting.

Hi everybody,
It seems that the Delhi meet was a good start. Here in Mumbai, we also had a similar experience. People were very enthusiastic about the meet, and by God's blessing, all went well. Now, we have decided to meet shortly in the month of October.
Great going, guys! Keep posting.

I really do not deserve all these compliments; the complete team has put in their hard work and efforts to the best of their capabilities. There are people like Devjit and Ashish, who are not from HR but from finance and still have contributed towards the success of this meeting. Hats off to the complete Delhi team. I'll surely keep your words in mind.
Thanks again.

A Big Hi to all the Mehfil e Dilli members & others,
Sorry, I could not say bye to all in the supposed way. I was in a rush as I had to leave for out of town. :( It was one of the best meets I have ever attended. I took all the discussions with me in my head, analyzing & reanalyzing them again & again. The experiences & advice shared by the Seniors were truly informative. I sincerely look forward to the meet coming up in November. In fact, the weekend I was actually outlining certain ideas to share with the Organizing Committee to ensure that the next DELHI meet is an even bigger hit.
It was really nice to meet all the members starting from the "HR babies" to "HR Big Daddies"; everybody made a fruitful contribution. Hats off to the Team who took care of all the activities.
Hi Archna, I am all too excited for the next meet. I will be sending you an email with the details we collected on 17th Sep '06.
Cheers :D to Mehfil e Dilli

Archna, I was sure that you'd make the meet a success, and you have certainly lived up to expectations!!
What I'd really like to see in the days to come would be a joint meet of all those who have set the ball rolling in their respective cities - Hyderabad, Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai (and others too, in other cities) - bonding together in this way would make all of us more effective and productive!
All the best!

Dear Archna,
I am appending my post to Hyderabad. Would welcome your feedback!
"Dear All,
It was great to learn how successful Hyderabad members have been in making their Hungama!
I especially enjoyed the posts by prabhakarch, penmetsa (Ravindra), srinivaskrmk, satya vegi, and of course CHR! I think you have made some very valid points and our own meets should learn from these.
We have just concluded our own DRISHTI at Mumbai, though on a much smaller scale, but just as intense, I hope! Do log into our report.
I also append an extract from my post to Archna at Delhi:

Perhaps we can start a new site where all reports, photos, and ongoing meets and discussions in all cities can be posted so that all those who are really interested in what is happening all around the country could share the momentum and keep it going! CHR Board Moderator, can you please help?
This site should be restricted to contributions from the members actually organizing the sites. If any other members wish to contribute, they might first contact their own city organizers, who would then forward their contributions to the all-India site.
Would welcome your comments and suggestions!"

Hi Jeroo,
Thanks for having so much faith in me; I'm really on cloud nine. :D I really like the idea and shared some of my inputs with Sid (CHR) on this. It will be a great platform for all of us who are keen to share their knowledge as well as learn from others. I think before we finalize, it would be great if all the organizers can meet once. What is your suggestion on this? Let's hear from others as well.

Hey Archana,
Congratulations on being a valued contributor to CiteHR.
Your and Devjit's efforts in organizing the meet are highly commendable, and I look forward to joining the next one.
Special thanks to Nitin for going out of his way to ensure the badges were done on time.
Also, thanks to Geeti for taking care of the stationery and other items.
It was a very interesting meet, and I really enjoyed the experiences shared by everyone. People who didn't join really missed out on a great experience.
Many thanks to Mr. Manoj Parashar, Maj. Pandey, and Ashish for sharing their valuable experiences and feedback with us.
As suggested earlier, one topic to consider for the next meet could be Attrition, and another topic we could give some thought to is Retention Policies.
Recently, we introduced a new policy of having a 4.5-day work week without compromising on productivity. We are aiming to achieve a 4-day work week by next year. Currently, we are running it as a pilot project starting from October 1st.
Hey Devjit,
Now, two parties are due—one from you and the other from Archana.
Please let me know if there is anything where I can be of assistance. I'm sure you have my contact numbers; I'll post them again just in case.
I will be out of town on Saturday but will be back on Sunday night.
Hi Aanchal,
I remember you were compiling a list of all the different committees. Maybe you can discuss that with Archana and then post it here.

Thanks a lot!! :D I am really thankful to CHR(SID) for giving me this rank, which I don't think I deserve as there are much senior people than me in this forum. A big thank you to all of you; this rank is because of the support from all of you, and I hope to receive the same support in the future too. :D Thanks, Devjit, for explaining the rank. Thanks to Geeti, Raj, Saurabh, Anchal, Ashish, and Sujata. The combined treat will be more fun, what do you say, Devjit?
Geeti, The Mall, CSM will be very crowded on Sunday, and we won't get a place to sit and discuss our things properly, so Major Pandey has asked to utilize his house as a meeting place, which is also in NOIDA. Even I think it is a good idea. Let me know what all of you have to say on this. Major Pandey's residence is in Vasundhra Enclave.
Cheers,
Archna

Hi All,
There are some bigger places in the upper storeys of CSM - Maamouchee, Orange Caesar, etc., but I don't know about light beverages and snacks. They mostly have multi-coloured mocktails. Then there is Taste of India down in the food court. 10-12 of us can fit in there, I think. Then there is a multi-cuisine place opposite ABN-AMRO towards Atta market. I can't recall its name, but it's reasonably OK. They have space upstairs. I live just 20 mins away, so if any running around needs to be done, I can do Sat evening.
These are just options I'm putting here. I am game for any venue. Joint treat sounds very sweet indeed. Looking at the response for Sunday's meeting, I was beginning to get worried... 😜 😄 Hi Sourabh - have a nice time at home. Looking forward to meeting you soon.
Warm regards,
Devjit

Hi Devjit, Manish,
We surely should have more members in the Organizing Team. However, the Core Organizing team should and will now be equipped to take care of anything, making every Sadi Dilli di meet memorable.

Hi Manish,
I don't agree with you that the meeting was not result-oriented. Surely the number of members was less, but we did learn something from this meeting as well.
Hi Devjit,
Regarding adding more people to the organizing committee, I don't think we have an organizing committee or something; all the members who want to put in efforts are doing that. It is not somebody's personal interest that they are willing to provide all the help they can; it is for a common cause, which many members from Delhi are not willing to understand. See the response in Hyderabad and Chennai; it is just amazing. I think people in Delhi are extraordinarily busy. 😉 What say??
Cheers,

Hi Archna,
Yes, I agree with you on this. The feeling of a common goal and selfless efforts for something is missing. Also, I must add that something else is missing as well, that is making the response be so different from Chennai and Hyderabad... What do you say? I guess these two things we can work out.

Hi all,
I'm extremely sorry for not being able to attend the meeting (due to DP courtesy). What happened, guys? It seems not everyone was happy about the meeting that took place on the 8th. I believe it doesn't matter who attended (as quality always matters more than quantity). It's just the beginning, and we have a long way to go. These are just initial challenges.
Archna, Devjit, Geeti,
I sincerely apologize for not being able to participate this time. You guys know the reason. I think we should approach the next meeting more professionally from now on.
Cheers,

Hi Ashish,
Don't be sorry, dear. We all know the problem and understand it quite well. It can happen with anybody, so please do not apologize for something you have no control over. Nothing went wrong in the meeting; it is just the number of members. We will discuss the issue over the phone. 😄
Hope all is well at your end.

Hi All,
What I meant about organizing the team is the people who are taking out extra time and putting in extra effort to organize things. We need some more people to add depth to the organizing effort, people who are addicted to citeHR.com. None of us expects anything in return for this; it's just our individual motivation to do whatever we can to further this forum from which all of us have benefited so much. This meeting on the 8th is excellent because it has shown us the areas we can improve upon.
Further, with all respect to everybody, I think we should stop this discussion here and work on making the next meeting a memorable one, drawing upon our success of the 1st meeting and the areas of improvement in our organizing highlighted in the 2nd meeting. These are Kiran's words, not mine. Hats off to you, Kiran, for the way you have pulled us all up... :D

Hi Arooj,
Yes, that's true. I remember most of the people I met during the meets, and it's a pleasure meeting all of them from diversified fields sharing their knowledge. (Feeling nostalgic) 😊
But with each passing day, people got busier and parted their ways from CITEHR MEETS. Not to forget new people joining in. But I am still thankful to those who became a part of DELHI CITEHR MEETS at any point.
Thanks for the post, Arooj.
