Dear Friends,

Namaskar.

CiteHR. Is a beautifully designed website where human resource community can interact on line. The various categories are specified in the index page itself. This is of immense help for users to confine to the areas of human resource management. Despite that as many as 401 posts are unanswered. It is not possible to identify whether or not these topics fall within human resource management. Maybe the content of these posts contains common place materials without invoking anybody’s thought.

The community members are mostly Indians here. I am active in certain other forums also. In one such forum, there are about 900000 members. But so far, I have not found any Indian there. So, having regard to my experience I like to make certain suggestions for the consideration of citehr community members.

In my observation the messages posted here may be put into the following categories in order:

1. Exchange of information,

2. Sensation seeking,

3. Exchange of views on fundamental issues and

4. Judgmental.

The first category is very much essential as I find many are job seekers/students. I think the website designers have kept this objective in mind and I think the objective is being well subscribed.

The second category of posts are on sensation (gud gudi) seeking. There is a humor category in the index page of the site itself. But as I think the posts are a little more than proportion. Apart from that humor has thin boundaries between taunt and mischiefs. While posting their messages the members do not keep this difference in mind which may result storms in the tea cup. The site expects humors but neither taunts nor mischiefs.

Exchange of views on fundamental issues requires considerable experience. But what I find that students also participate in such topics. They are very much welcome to participate in the discussion but what is observed that their presentations at times are very much hypothetical devoid of facts/data/information and far away from ground reality. I hope before posting their messages they should be sure of these points.

Exceptionally judgmental posts are also seen. The members assume the position of a moderator by their own and think that they only know the ultimate truth. Even posting private messages on this count is noticed. On any count one may like or dislike someone’s views but forcing the author to come down to his/her choice or standard does not contain the flavors of civilized standards.

The suggestions are placed for the consideration of the members for better harmony of the citehr community.

Regards,

Jogeshwar.
