Dear All,

I am facing a big problem regarding the acceptance of my resignation. I have been working in a recruitment consultancy for the past 7 months. I have never been interested in joining a consultancy as I have always been interested in a generalized HR profile. However, as a fresher, I joined one. I have been a good performer and was promoted to the senior recruiter position in just 4 months.

The only mistake I made was attending interviews for generalized profiles by giving the excuse of not feeling well. Unfortunately, my HR found out about this and asked me to resign. Since I got selected at one of the places, I was fine with resigning. However, now the issue is that my resignation is not being accepted by HR, and the new company is not willing to proceed without an accepted resignation or a relieving letter.

I have tried to request acceptance, and after submitting my resignation, I received an email from HR asking me to justify why I should not be terminated instead.

Guys, please advise me on how to solve this situation.

Dear Sujjoshi,

Management cannot hold a resignation indefinitely. Make sure they have acknowledged your resignation. The place of work/job may not be as interesting as before, so look for some alternative job.

Dear Sujjoshi,

Please ensure that you have received an acknowledged copy of your resignation letter. If not, try to explain the situation to the company that has offered you the job. If they are not willing to hire you after the explanation, then start looking for an alternate job. However, make sure to mention the fact of your relieving during the interview process.

As proof of your experience, you can show the appointment letter, last pay salary slip, or bank transaction.
