Hi Renu,
If you are not satisfied with your current job and your request is not being considered after long time also; you inform the senior authorities directly about HR Manager behaviour. If this does't work then try to hunt outside for HR jobs.
I would suggest before talking to the seniors approch your HR Manager formally or informally and discuss about the issue he is having with you in providing HR related work to you.
Office assistant job profile is not low profile job that also require admistrative abilities. Well you can provide valid supporting for having MBA degree along with current job profile which is enough to show your ability. You can apply as fresher in any company and if not comfortable go with Recruitment agencies or Consultancies where you can excel your career in HR.

Hi Renu,
I would suggest you to try to impress your seniors with your alloted job or proof him that you are capable enough to undertake HR activities.
Also add more of HR activities details in your profile rather than receptionist work, if you are looking for HR job.

Hi Renu,
As other experts suggested you to speak to higher authorities and your seniors. Sine you have done MBA from distance learning , getting job directly in company would be bit difficult. What you can do learn recruitment from consultancy. that too good one like mofai, abc etc. Once u will get experience in recruitment then u can apply job in company. They will consider for experience.

Hi Renu,
Thant's the problem wtih HR profession. Anybody in the organization want to do the HR, but before going to the HR, have you learned pro-actively what HR means? Are you clear on that? Instead of waiting for somebody, just update yourself on HR trends, HR knowledge, take small initiatives like co-ordination of employee engagement events, arrangement of interviews, speak with few employees formally/informally and get the survey done and submit to your HR manager.
You really need to understand your HR Manager and have to build the trust that you can do the HR activities.

Hi Renu,
You can do one thing that just take initiative for some hr activities at your own end and discuss it with your senior to implement those. You have to show your inner quality. Before all this, first you should make it confirm that whether they required any hr in their co. only then your efforts would be fruitful. Otherwise you should find another place for your career growth.
For any other suggestion, pl let me know.
Thanks,

Hi Renu :
Generally in smaller organisation it takes time for a change in Job profile though you may have upgraded your skills/knowledge. Currently there may not be any opening in HR hence your present organisation is unable to accomodate you in HR. I think you should have patience I am sure the HR manager knows your aspirations and will give you the opportunity when a position comesup. Well there is a flipside also even though you may get an opportunity to work in HR initially you may be landing up doing some part of reception and some part of HR work which may not be very motivating to you.
I suggest while you are waiting to get a opportunity within the same company try for opportunities outside as well. If there are openings on temporary basis also in Recruitment or HR grab it. Once you get into HR/Recruitment you can grow from there on.
Hope this info is useful.

Dear Renu,
The information given by you is quite short, as u r working since last 2 years. then u had welknown about the strength of HR in ur co. also do you think that their is much work load in HR but ur manager avoiding u to do the same. if yes, better u talk directly with senior mngmt & even after not get satisfaction better search for new job.
