Dear Professionals, I work in Bangalore in a small size private limited company (comes under construction related works). The director of the company says that The company's financial situation is very bad hence he doesn't have money to pay to his employees. But asking them to support him for another couple of months without giving any assurance on salary to employees. He says he can only pay based on the pending collections and new projects completion. I think this will take quite some months to get money to his kitty in the company to pay to employees. In this scenario how employees can support him?
And moreover he is planning (sent mail to employees) to do paycut, realignment of team by terminating few who is not supporting him during this situation.
On what basis he can terminate employees or expecting full support from all employees without paying them? March Salary is not paid still. I need your inputs and suggestions how to face this situation with this employer... Thank you.

The cited situation is pathetic. Employees could support their employer by giving productivity
but in turn, employer needs to pay salaries to his employees.
Thus support to be rendered is from both sides. It is not a one side route (If a bridge is
constructed across a canal or river, the benefit of walking through the bridge should be enjoyed by people from both sides of bridge).
Please go through the link regarding your querry. It is not correct to terminate employees during
lock down period.

Dear Mr. Yesurajaa,
This situation has stand as challenge before everyone, he may be employer and employee. No one have witnessed such a situation in post independence era. In this particular time both employer and employee have to show solidarity to each other.
There was not much difficulty for making payment for March'20. Did you pay for the month of March?
The problem remains for the month of April, as the month remain completely under lock down. As a employer you have to find out the way discussing with your workmen. To look after the workmen, the Govt has notified advisory to pay full for the period of lock down.
No one can suggest any good to violate the direction from Govt, to pay. The best option is to discuss with your employee for a solution.
