I would kindly request the members to help me out. I have been assigned to improvise the ISO 9001:2000 system within my company. I have gone through the material given on ISO - International Organization for Standardization. Can someone please provide me some help with the ISO 9001-2000 quality management system manual, forms, formats to be used and some suggestions for proper ISO implementation.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thanks mods for an excellent forum.

Dear J veenu,
The first step of implementation is to prepare a system manual based on the nature of your organization . ex: if your organization is doing only trading ( import and sale) you can avoid the clause of designing and development, Monitoring and measurement of the equipment and tools etc.
Seconldy, prepare a quality manual which consist the Quality Policy of your organization, Quality objective of the year, and quality plan,
Identify the work procedures , such as purchasing, storage, despatch etc and create a workflow in visio or using any other tools.
Create a list of job description and paste the existing J/D to ISO format ( which is approved by your organization)
Creat organization chart for all area of operation
Create customer contact and followup methods.
This will cover most of the requirement of ISO 9001:2000

Hi Veenu,
I hope you are aware that ISO 9001:2000 standards has been replaced by ISO 9001:2008 standard in November 2008. You may have to contact your certification body to guide you with the transition into the new standard if you have not done so already.

I think you have been only asked to improve on the existing ISO 9001:2000 System. The first step would be to make it into ISO 9001: 2008 version. This is easy as it requires only cosmetic changes.
Your certification agency will be able to give you the details of amendments required. Many of the companies have the system for name sake only. Such a beautiful system is not effectively used by them.
Please go through the procedures, if any in your company and look for effectiveness. Look for three things. ACE (Adequacy, Compliance, Effectiveness)
