DEAR ALL, Good morning.
I have a query, please help to solve it.
In a xyz company civil construction work is done by civil contractor. The contractor not have EPFO and ESIC registration number.
And contractor not have above 10 employee.
In this case principle employer is liable or not to pay epf and esi contribution of civil construction labour ?

Hi Ajay,
If principal employer is having PF & ESIC code then he need to pay these employees contribution in his code and same can be recovered from the vendor.

Once if the establishment is covered under PF, then everybody working in the premises have to be covered under PF. Principal employer is responsible for coverage and payment of both the contributions payable by any Contractor.
