Hello Everyone. There has been a time when I found it really difficult to sleep…but that was a long time ago.

Now, I would like to share a few tips to everyone who are deprived of sleep and try hard to sleep in the night. First – a few tips from my own kitty: (Workable solutions :))
  • Have dinner at least 2 hours before sleep. An early dinner will be helpful for easier digestion and less disturbances while sleeping – have it at 7:00 PM
  • Have a healthy dinner, not a heavy dinner:idea:. Keep it light and tasty enough to make you feel that you are filled with your choice of food. Avoid – spicy food, intake of alcohol, smoking, or even eating while doing other tasks. Just like how you try to save time, the body also tries to forget that it ever ate something on time. Eat peacefully, and slowly.
  • Avoid watching serials or movies that can create a sense of tension in your mind. Because your mind unknowingly slips into that fear and sense of anxiety and will feel very tired :!:
  • Lots of things to think about – how about choosing to think about something that will make you smile? Was that a phone call from a loved one? Or a sweet word from someone/ Or an appreciation? Feel good about urself, because you are worth it! :)
  • Listen to light music – of your choice. Walk while listening (not brisk walking, just complete your work, cleaning, or washing and keep the music on)
  • Work begins at 9:00 and ends at 7:00pm. After that – if you are still thinking about work – then you don’t have a proper sense of time management. I am not kidding, I used to think a lot about work until recently I found how nice it is to FORGET work when I am away from work!
  • Try taking a hot shower before sleep (I am still trying to do this – the very thought of getting prepared to take a bath before sleep – makes me tired and I am off to the bed – so you see, I am yet to try this part. But no harm in sharing tho! )
  • Keep a pillow under your knees while sleeping. It relaxes your mind.
  • Make sure your feet is clean. Don’t go for a hard wash. Just wash with Luke warm water and make sure it’s clean.
  • Avoid fluid consumption at least 2 hours before bed; it will reduce the need to wake up in the middle of the night. – You know what I mean.
  • Make sure the room is dark (if you are scared – like me, use a dim bed light that gives you the feeling that – you are still aware of what’s happening around)
Hey people why don’t you contribute your tips too?

You are right - the mind must be clear. If not able to sleep - then ppl can try the above to induce the habit of sleeping.
trust me... I tried it... and nowadays.. I sleep easily like say at 8:30 pm:sleep:

Good post Asha...
Raviiii...are u talking about eternal sleepppp...:shock::shock:
to add on ...never take a nap or sleep during daytime....by doing this we'll become tired at night so that we go straight to bed....also have your favorite comfort pillows and blankets...and sleep like a baby after a tiresome day:rolleyes:...as Vivek has said its again the mind...so sleep only when you feel sleepy else get out and do something which might be boring for you..like I try reading a book upside down:-D:rolleyes:
