Dear All,
I am an HR Officer working in a construction company. I am in the training section. I have been given a mandate to generate a report regarding training needs of all the staff in the system, and make a proposal to management on fulfilling the training needs.

Dear friend,
First you need to create the skill sets(skill matrix) required for each employees according to their categories. Then you have to identify where they are lacking. These two process can be done only with the help of Site heads, because the employees of construction industry are scatterd in various locations.
Based on the feed back from the site heads,"Tranining need identification form" for each employees has to be prepared. Then it has to be consolidated depending on the topics relevant to skill sets required. Finally Training calender has to be prepared with the name of trainer if possible.
The same can be submitted to management for their approval.
Thanks and Regards,

Dear Fellow Citehrian
One way to do this is to make a skill-gap matrix. This can be mentioned in the JD of the person.
You can collect data for skills required for the position v/s actual skill in a table format.
Hope this helps

Hi,
Ive recently joined an IT company as an HR and they want me to handle all the responsibilities as one.But im a fresher and im not being given any support in this organisation, as there is no process. Can someone guide me as in how to get this company up and going. The management sucks as the company is run by a married couple. As the company is small id like to know a simple process. I also need suggestions on how to start a newsletter and evaluate the employee of the month.
Regards
