Dear All,
Pls share your view on following points
01.Suppose an employee who has gone on maternity leave (covered under esic ceiling) for 12 week,do we need to pay the pf and esic contribution for that period.

Dear Mr.Mohan,
Maternity benefit is covered under ESI, They will pay her the wage as per the act.As she is not on duty you have to show as employee on leave(Maternity Leave).
PF contribution will not be paid as she is not on duty and no salary is paid by the company.
Note: ESI will pay wage on the basis of net salary she is drawing in the past months.

Please fill the forms l,m,n & o and submit it to the ESIC office with a letter mentioning the employee is under maternity leave and this'll help her to get the benefit of the ESIC.No payment from employer side...
