Dear All,
Due to t his bundh problems many companies in our city are remain closed and they have plans to compensate the same on Sunday. But is there any legal provision to keep office opened to compensate on Weekly Offs.?? Does statutory laws allow such action?? Is not this punishable either under Factories Act or Shops??

So it is all clear now. In Mumbai, offices are open and people are at their work places. It is just another day in Mumbai.

hI RAMKISHORE,
MOST OF THE ESTABLISHMENT CLOSE DUE TO FEAR THAN ANYTHING ELSE. THERE ARE SOME COMPANIES/HOTELS WHICH DECLARE A HOLIDAY ON THE DAY OF THE BUNDH, AND CONVERT THE WEEKLY HOLIDAY INTO A WORKING DAY. THIS IS A WISE MOVE AS NO MANDAY IS LOST. IN INDIA BUNDH IS RESORTED BECAUSE THE RULING PARTY NEVER HEEDS TO THE ADVICE OF THE OPPOSITION!
IN JAPAN WHEN WORKERS PROTEST, THEY OVER WORK WEARING A BLACK BADGE. THERE THE MANAGEMENT IS SENSITIVE AND THEY IMMEDIATELY CALL A MEETING AND DISCUSS THE PROBLEMS OF THE WORKERS AND RESOLVE IT.

WHEN WILL OUR MANAGEMENT LEARN THIS LESSON GOD ONLY KNOWS (GOK)!!
