Dear,

You can issue them charge sheet /warning letters for their unauthorized absent and take some stringent disciplinary actions against them.

Apart from that, if you can able to make them understand about the bed effect of reaming absent in long term. Such as they will not become eligible for yearly increments, EL will not be generate, loss in terms salary/PF, etc then things might change.

Hi,
Options suggested by Ms. Shweta are really commendable. But I would like to add one more option in the list.

Besides rewarding employees for coming on time you can ask the latecomers for giving actual reason in writing causing them late for the office.

It would be a big problem for those who are coming habitually late because after a week or so they would not have any false reason. On the contrary it would not be any problem who are late for genuine reason.

Dev

HI,
Absenteeism is one of the persistent problem to tackle from Personnel administration to HR evolution.
I feel, the employee should feel interested and motivted to come to work place, that interest can be created only by HR.
Conduct team building activities, employee suggestions, stress free environment, employee owned work space, employee involvement in key decisions, team bonding should be increased within the organisation.
Last but not least, try to address the personal life issues of employee to tackle the absenteeism.

To control the late comers ,our company is using below mention method:-
The reporting time in the office is 9.30. a.m. If any employee comes after 9.45 a.m.,it would be considered as late attendance. After 3 late attendance, for every next late attendance you would be marked on Half Day.

hi ayyub,
may be the cultural difference results in absenteeism. u can conduct some activity based training to the employees to bring some cohisiveness among the employees..... fi they got the sense of belonging among themselves it may certainly decresae the level of absenteeism..... even though if it persists u can try out counselling to the employees....
