Hi Preeti,

The general survey on HR's salary that I have done differs with metros. The bandwidth varies with nature and reputation of the company.

Bombay:Trainee (fresh) : 7,500 - 9,000
Executive (1 -2yrs) : 8,000 - 14,000
Sr Execuitve (2- 5yrs): 12,000 - 25,000
Asst Manager(5-7yrs) : 18,000 - 30000
Manager (5 - 10yrs) : 25,000 - 50,000
Sr manager (>10yrs) : 45,000 - 70,000

Chennai:Trainee (fresh) : 6,000 - 9,000
Executive (1 -2yrs) : 8,000 - 10,000
Sr Execuitve (2- 5yrs): 10,000 - 18,000
Asst Manager(5-7yrs) : 15,000 - 25,000
Manager (5 - 10yrs) : 20,000 - 40,000
Sr manager (>10yrs) : 40,000 - 60,000

Though salary difference is by few thousands in the bandwidth, cost of living and type of industry (IT /ITES /Mfrg /Construction /Service), nature of the company(domestic / MNC) matter a lot in salary fixation.

Mostly appraisal has to happen when every employee completes one year of service. Some companies do in Jan /Jun, when such things happen, the locked up months are not taken into effect for arrear. Say when one joins in Feb, he has to wait till Jun for hike and the hike will be w.e.f June only.

If recruitment is done only in jan or June, then no issues. But is this always possible? Some may leave and some will join. When some people fall victim to this delayed appraisal, they quit. So as per this, every month some body would join and somebody would complete one year. So App has to be a continuous process.

This can be a rough guidance and cannot be authenticated. Hope to some extent I have given the picture.

well i agree with few, that she must get more salary, but her performance is measured by her senior and management. some companies have cut off line in offering salaries to employees, hence her company is unable to pay her so, she can either stick to her present job or gain experience and look out for another, which will offer her better package and growth.

Hi everybody,

I appreciate Mr.Chandrasekhar from chennai for the salary chart. This is close to the reality but actually based on judgemental anticipations not on any principles. Because in India hardly any logic or principles applied its market driven negotiation as well as deman and supply based model.

Its difficult to predict thats the reason all professional and mamagers as well as craftsmans do not stick with one organization for long just unpredictable variation in salary pattern. Many factors contributes to salary fixation even negotiation power of engineers/profesionals/managers or circumstances of hiring company for specific expertise as well as nature and level of job determines salary which is again depends on negotiation power.

In General we find all job sites advertisements have inflated salaries specially IT salaries have hijacked talent hiring this salary boom has levelled the salaries in Indian market for non-IT engineers/professionals and managers rellying arround 75 percent of IT salaries.

We must apprecuiate for good work under the circumstan so difficult as explained to sum up salary levels in different part of India on an average.

Dear,

I think having 3 years experience in HR will not give overall exposure of HR & Admin functions. HR & Admin is a vast subject to learn.

According to my experience:-

1st Option:-

If she is good in her performance & your mangement want to give hike. You can put performance incentive linked with the HR Target. You can pay this amount to her on the yearly basis based on her performance achieved.

2nd Option:-

If your managment wants to give direct hike in the pay, you can give upto 2.50 ctc will be the right figure for the 3 years experience.

Further, Increment is also depend upon the work load, No of employees working in the company, Importance of HR in the company, How much HR is involved in the day to function of each department or they are just playing a role of Recruitment & salary. Company paying capacity etc.,

Increment is considered on the various aspects, it is not given just a employee says that they are lower paid.

Think & discuss with your managment & decide...

Thanks & Regards,
