We, a manufacturing company (at Tamil Nadu) and have a valid factory licence at our head office location. Earlier, we have manufacturing activity our HO and later, it shifted to another place (within Tamil Nadu), due to space constrains. But still, we have renewed our factory licence, till 2022. Recently, we have been inspected by TNEB officials and advised to change our power connection tariff from industrial connection to Commercial connection, due to non-manufacturing activity at our HO. In addition to that, we have an In-house R&D Department with some machinery at HO.

Please note, we have registered with ESIC / EPFO and contributed regularly, without fail.

So, kindly advise, whether there is any statutory requirements to keep our factory licence at our HO?, If we surrender to IF Office, any legal issues will arise?
