Khadir has given you good link and advice for the first part of your question.
Unless your organisation is using SS and/or the top management
is committed to its use, getting trained in it would not be of much use.
Have a nice day.

Hello Simhan Sir,

I keenly follow your discussions and discuss the same with my classmates. I'm into a 2yr M.B.A program and have just finished 3rd Semester. I would like to have a discussion with you on post-M.B.A programs that make us competent. H.R and Marketing are my major and minor respectively. I've 2yrs of work experience, which is not relevant to my academics, and have done project on H.R Polices and Procedures. And now, would intend to enroll into a certificate/1yr diploma course either in Total Quality Management/HR functions/ISO standardizations(as suggested by my HOD). However, I'm garnering all the information on these courses and estimating the value it adds to my credentials. Ergo, on this note, could you please brief me the benefits of a diploma/certificate programs after M.B.A? Lastly, I wish to know the sources to develop our competencies in H.R(this is the daunting question for every student, who would end up in a fray).

Thank you for listening to me!

It does not matter as to which field you have work experience, as long as you can reflect on the experience and assess how it relates to the field you want to work in. Attending courses on ISO and TQM without access to work places to practice what you learn is a waste of time. I would suggest that you decide on the field that you want to work and gain some experience in that field, before embarking on courses.

Dear Simhan Sir
I am a working as a branch manager in an insurance company. I came across six sigma methodologies in 2011and I had completed my Green belt. Now I am doing my Black belt but I do not have any prior experience in Six Sigma projects. As I am not getting any opportunity in my organization to do a project , can you guide me on how can I work under a Black belt as a trainee. As I am keen to switch my career from sales and pursue my desire to work in quality and project development

Dear Pranav,
I live in the UK and I am not conversant with opportunities in India. I wonder how you got your Green Belt without completing some form of SS project. Please scan the web to check who all have Black Belt qualification in your area and contact them.
