form 10 (D )is used when the employee pension is to start i.e. either after retirement or incase of death for family pension.
however form 10(C) is used when the employee resigns and the pension withdrawl (incase service is less than 9.5 years) or if service is more than that, pension certificate to be issued and pension to start when employee attains 58 years of age.

Dear Murugesan S,
1. Form 10 C is used for two purposes,
(a) For withdrawal benefit if service is less than 10 years
(b) For Scheme certificate if age is below 58 years.
2. Form 10D is used to withdraw pension. This can be after 58 years, or between 50 -58 years (reduced pension), following death of member at any age (family pension) or disabled pension (at any age during life time of member).
