Respected HR members,
I just wanted to know about PF contributions while an employee is on maternity leave. Will the employer make the contribution, or will a simple payment as per the act be payable?

Hi,
Currently, maternity leave is granted for 26 weeks, which is 182 days. Therefore, an employee proceeding on maternity leave is eligible for 6 months of leave with pay, which means receiving 100% of their salary. Accordingly, the employer's contribution to the Provident Fund (PF) should be paid in full as usual, and the employee's contribution to PF should be deducted.
Thank you.
