Salary (remuneration package) in India varies significantly based on several factors, including the organization's capacity to pay, surrounding practices, similar organizations' remuneration structures, the size and business of the organization, the candidate's profile—experience, qualifications, actual exposure to the job, internal parity, and the location of the job.

In my opinion, you should first check the internal parity, which is comparable with other employees within the organization, surrounding practices, and the existing remuneration of the employees. Then, with some reasonable increase, fix the remuneration.
