During your free time, you can work with your accounts (salary) department to gain practical knowledge and understand the processes involved. Gain the confidence to handle it without support. Subsequently, when you move to another company, you can present your capabilities of handling general HR functions, payroll, and statutory compliance. Also, always remember that teamwork wins. As you grow in terms of hierarchy, teamwork will become inevitable.
