I have a little bit of confusion regarding payment of gratuity in the case of death. If an employee is on a contract period and has worked for only 2 months, then what will be the criteria for payment of gratuity to these employees.

Hi,
In cases such as the one above, the insurance company linked with the Payment of Gratuity comes into the picture. The insurance company might have indicated in their policy the criteria in cases of death or permanent disablement. The employer is liable to pay the employee for the period worked in his employment under this Act, though there is nothing holding back if it is more beneficial to the beneficiary than the mentioned period or amount.
Thanks and Regards
