Hi,

I have a preplanned leave of 1 week that was approved 3 months ago, but it now falls within the notice period. I have a 2-month notice period. Can I avail of them, or do I need to go to the office during that period? Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,
Goutham

Permitting an employee to avail of their statutory leave during the notice period is at the discretion of the employer. Normally, most employers are not inclined to sanction leave during the notice period, either to ensure the completion of pending work or to maintain workflow continuity. In your case, since the leave was approved prior to your notice, there is no inherent restriction on taking the leave now. However, you should consult your manager, as you are currently in the notice period. If your manager decides to cancel the leave approval, you will not be able to take the leave as planned. Ultimately, it depends on the management's attitude and the cordiality of your relationship with them.
