Correction of Name and Date of Birth in EPF Account
My current employer has updated the wrong name and date of birth in my EPF account. As suggested by the EPFO website, I prepared a letter with signatures from both myself and my employer. I have sent this correction letter to the Regional EPFO Office along with all the required supporting documents, such as a copy of my Aadhaar Card for the name correction and my 10th pass certificate for the date of birth correction.
After 10 days, I checked my date of birth on the Employee E-Sewa (UAN Menu) and found that it has been corrected. However, my name has only been partly corrected, not fully.
On my Aadhaar Card, the name reads as "BASANT KUMAR LOHIYA" with the father's name as "BHANWARLAL LOHIYA." Initially, on the EPFO slip, the name appeared as "BASANT BHANWARLAL KUMAR LOHIYA." After the correction, it now reads as "BASANT BHANWARLAL LOHIYA."
Should I be concerned about this partial correction, or can I relax knowing that I have submitted all the necessary documents for the corrections, as evidenced by the duly receipted letter from EPFO?
Submission of Scheme Certificate
I have also worked in my previous organization for 12 years and possess a scheme certificate with the name "BASANT KUMAR LOHIYA." When should I submit this scheme certificate to the EPFO Office? I am extremely worried that if I submit it and it gets misplaced, I could face issues. What should I do?
Thank you,
