One of our employees worked in the factory for three years and passed away outside the factory premises due to natural causes. He was covered under PF and ESI.

Pension Eligibility Query

My question is: Will he be eligible for a pension from the Provident Fund Department since he worked for three years?

Yes, The person(Nominee) is eligible for getting pension as well as EDLI Amount under EPF Act. Nominee get a funeral Expenses from ESIC. Regards M Suresh Kumar

Pension Eligibility Under EPS

Under EPS, if he was married, his widow along with two children will receive a pension. If he was a bachelor, his nominee will receive a pension in addition to benefits under the EDLI Scheme. Please contact the PRO of the RPFC office with details.

yes, his family will get pension, even if pf is remitted for one month also and they can also claim funeral benefits from ESI dept too. regards Jaya

his widow and his two unmarried children,below the age of 25 years will get the pf pension.and also get the funeral benefit Rs-10000/-from Esic. Regards. S S Rawat.
