Maintaining Muster Roll and Wages Registers: Guidelines for Andhra Pradesh - CiteHR

Employee Information in Muster Roll and Wages Register

Should we include all employees' information in the muster roll and wages register? This includes manager-level employees, office staff (such as accountants, admin, and receptionists), supervisors, and other staff under both the Factories Act and the Contract Labour Act.

Our organization is based in Andhra Pradesh. Could you please provide the minimum wages for the year 2012 to 2013?

Regards,
Viswanadh.

For minimum wages, you can check both sites:

Minimum Wages in Andhra Pradesh

or

Labour Department, Govt. A.P

Minimum Rates of Wages in Andhra Pradesh, Online Registration & Renewals, Labour Welfare Schemes in A.P (link updated to site home) (Search On Cite | Search On Google).

And yes, you should maintain such records in the muster roll as you described in your question.

Very useful information, Mr. Nitesh. I have one more question. When we show the wage records in Form XVII under the Contract Labour Act, there are some columns to be filled like:

- No. of days worked
- Daily rate of wage / piece rate
- Basic wages
- DA / other allowances
- Total
- PF
- Net amount paid

Here my question starts: If an employee's salary is Rs 10,000/- per month and he worked the full month (i.e., 26 days with 4 Sundays off) without any leaves, how should this be shown in the register? Is the basic and DA calculation based on 30 days or only 26 days? Regarding the daily rate, how should it be calculated — is it 10,000 / 30 days or 10,000 / 26 days? Please let me know how to do this.

Regards,
Viswanadh
