The Significance of Voting and Political Engagement in Society - CiteHR

Mother: Today is voting day, son go and vote.

Son: I am tired. What is the point in voting as such?

Mother: Do not be pessimistic, son...

Son: I am serious, mom. All are corrupt and will eat away our money. So why select the guy who eats away our money? Or are we voting to select a candidate whose home we want to make better? Why vote and see the same candidate (whom we TRUSTED by giving our vote) creating a menace in society? As such, no justice is ever done.

Why is Kasab still alive? NO ANSWER
Why "No one killed Jessica"? NO ANSWER
Why no Lokpal Bill yet? NO ANSWER

Why don't these politicians understand that we common people have made them what they are, and they have just NO heart in listening (forget about solving) to our problems? NO WATER, NO ELECTRICITY in many places. As such, voting is a formality of electing a politician whom we want to give our money to lead a luxurious life.

Instead of this, why not achieve success in life by honesty and hard work and thus make our future generations proud?

POLITICS IS LIKE NATURE. WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. IF WE TRY TO CHANGE IT, WE ARE DEAD AS WE ARE GOING AGAINST NATURE...
