Hi, I am working in a Software Development Company in Hyderabad as Manager - HR. We are planning for Corporate Social Responsibility Programmes once a year. Can anyone help me suggest/list such programmes? One aspect is to spend time and effort (preferably). The other aspect is to do the same with some contribution/donation.
Thanks & Regards, Padmaja

Dear Padmaja,
Greetings to your day!
It's a pleasure to see corporate companies in India responding to social causes. NGOs and corporate organizations should feel responsibility for the "pollution" you will observe at Ameerpet X road, Katheden Industrial Estate, or any other industrial area in and around Hyderabad where people are suffering from breathing problems, and their lungs are being damaged.
As you are aware, "pollution" contributes to the greenhouse effect. I believe that creating awareness among all walks of life is important now.
All the best,
Venkat

Hi,
Your message sounds great, but it is more towards the philanthropic approach. Seeing doling out favors is not the corporation's only social responsibility. It needs to be embedded into the system; however small it is. Ethically managing finance is also a type of CSR.
Cheers,
Phalak

Hi there,
All the above threads are fine. But before supporting any initiative, consider the following, Ms. Padmaja:
- Relevance to your business objectives (CSR is not charity; it's a strategy).
- Sustainability (you may not support lifelong; once you support, it should sustain).
- Visibility and impact (before your support and after, any positive change should be visible).
Then you can decide the best course of action within your sources. For any updates, you can rely on me.
