Dear Divi,

As per the Ruling Under Section No. 3 of "The Tamil Nadu National and Festival Holidays Act, 1953", subsequently amended in 1970:

"Every Employee shall be allowed in each Calendar Year a Holiday of one whole day on the 26th January, 1st of May, 15th of August, and 2nd October and Five Other Holidays each of one whole day for such Festival as the Inspector may, in consultation with Employer and Employees specify in respect of any Industrial Establishment."

Note: The Term "Industrial Establishment" is defined in the Act to mean any Establishment, Shop, Commercial Establishments as defined in the "Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishment Act, 1947".

As per the above Act, one has to observe a minimum of 9 days as a Holiday in any Calendar Year and accordingly, we propose as below:

S. No. Date Day Name of Holiday Nature of Holiday

01. 15.01.2008 Tuesday Sangaranthi/Pongal Festival Holiday

02. 26.01.2008 Saturday Republic Day National Holiday

03. 14.04.2008 Monday Tamil New Year's Day Festival Holiday

04. 01.05.2008 Thursday May Day National Holiday

05. 15.08.2008 Friday Independence Day National Holiday

06. 03.09.2008 Wednesday Vinayaka Chathurti Festival Holiday

07. 02.10.2008 Thursday Gandhiji Jayanthi National Holiday

08. 08.10.2008 Wednesday Ayudha Pooja Festival Holiday

09. 27.10.2008 Monday Deepavali Festival Holiday

Divi, these are the holidays I have planned for my Tamil Nadu region. You can make the subsequent changes, apart from national holidays.

Regards,

Bhavna 😂
