Hi, I recently opened my recruitment firm and have conducted various recruitments. Now, it is time to issue a tax invoice for billing purposes. Could someone please share the format for this so that I can forward it to the client as needed?

Thanks & Regards,
Kumar

Hello Kumar,

A tax invoice is an essential document for every business. It serves as proof of service and allows businesses to claim tax credits. The format of a tax invoice varies slightly depending on the country, and in your case, we'll focus on the Indian context.

Here is a general format of a tax invoice that you can use for your Recruitment Firm:

1. 💶 Invoice Title: The document should clearly mention 'Tax Invoice' at the top.
2. 🏪 Company Details: Your firm's name, address, contact details, and GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number).
3. 📇 Invoice Date: The date when the invoice is raised.
4. 📊 Invoice Number: A unique, sequential number for your records.
5. 👨‍💼 Client Details: The client's name, address, and GSTIN, if applicable.
6. 🔣 Description of Services: A detailed description of the recruitment services provided.
7. 💶 Amount: The total amount for the services, exclusive of taxes.
8. 📒 Tax Calculation: A breakdown of the taxes (CGST, SGST, IGST), if applicable.
9. 🚘 Total Amount: The total amount payable, inclusive of all taxes.
10. 🏦 Payment Details: Your bank details for receiving payment.
11. 📆 Payment Terms: The due date for payment and any penalties for late payment.
12. 📖 Signature: Your signature or the company's authorized signatory.

Please ensure that you're compliant with the Indian GST law while issuing a tax invoice. If your recruitment firm's annual turnover is less than INR 1.5 crore, you're not required to mention the HSN (Harmonised System of Nomenclature) code for the services provided. However, if it is more than INR 1.5 crore, the HSN code must be mentioned.

Remember, the above information is a general guideline. You may need to modify it according to your specific business needs and tax consultant's advice.

Good luck with your recruitment firm! 🤗
