I need advice, suggestions, and guidance from the esteemed members of the forum.
Background of the Situation
One of my close relatives joined the IT segment of a Delhi-based establishment that provided event organizing services about a year and a half ago. They faced huge workloads, almost working 16 hours daily, even on Saturdays and Sundays to clear the backlogs. By the end of 2019, everything was running smoothly.
Transition to Work from Home
However, just a month before the pandemic lockdown (mid-March 2020), the establishment decided to vacate the office space and asked employees to work from home, assuring that salaries would continue. Initially, my relative trusted the employer's words and continued working until mid-May. However, since January 2020, they had not received any payment and did not get proper responses.
Issues with Salary and Employment Status
When some junior employees inquired about their salaries, they faced abuse, had their access to the establishment suspended, and were not provided with formal release documents. After realizing there was no work-from-home opportunity, I advised my relative to return the establishment's documents and assets in August 2020. She did so, requesting verbally for her dues (F&F) to be cleared as soon as possible.
Financial and Relocation Challenges
Following the asset handover, due to financial constraints, she left Delhi as it became impossible to cover rent and utilities. She moved to her friend's town in her hometown. In late September 2020, an old employee started making threatening calls and sent a threatening message about issuing warrants against employees. Despite her attempts to contact the employer, there was no response, and the employer started targeting unpaid employees.
Seeking Assistance
She shared her situation with other affected employees who are facing similar challenges. She seeks assistance from senior members but faces difficulties traveling to Delhi due to financial constraints (still unemployed) and pandemic-related issues. Additionally, she has left her accommodation in Delhi, making staying there financially burdensome.

When business slips out of hands suddenly and revival is impossible in the near future due to situations like a continued pandemic, certain employers resort to unfair labor practices. They continue their business operations secretly with the help of a so-called loyal group of employees and manage to continue for some time, making other employees weary of their efforts to receive their rightful terminal benefits due to the alleged closure of the establishment.
In such a situation, the affected employees' only option is to file a joint complaint with the State Labor Commissioner, copying the State Government. Simultaneously, they should also seek support from political parties and persuade an MLA to raise this issue in the Assembly.
