Hello Team, due to the COVID-19 scenario, my company said there is no productivity from my end and has asked me to go for LOP for the rest of the time until the lockdown is lifted. However, I did not like the idea and resigned from the company. After that, the Director had a call with me and said he was just playing around and asked me if I would take back my resignation. I still did not withdraw my resignation, and they have asked when I want my last day to be. I said it shall be on that particular date only.

So, I was released then, and my official email ID was deleted right away. Later, I found that the official email ID was linked to a LinkedIn premium license, and as they deleted my official ID, the premium was shifted to my personal ID. They asked for my personal LinkedIn information, and as a loyal employee, I shared the details with HR. However, later I found out they had misused my personal ID and made some changes without my prior permission.

I spoke to them and took back control of my privacy, stating that I shall not share my personal information again as it was misused. After a few days, I received a call from HR stating they will deduct the license amount from my salary. Until then, I had the office laptop with me, and I informed HR that I will return the company assets once I receive my full salary.

Now, they are harassing me, asking for my personal LinkedIn information and the company's laptop, stating that only then they will provide me with full and final settlement. Please let me know what I should do now. I am unwilling to share my personal credentials again and cannot trust the company to pay my salary once I return the assets. However, I am willing to return the laptop but still unwilling to share my personal LinkedIn credentials. Please help me out with what should be done next.

Hi,

Once you have resigned, it's your prerogative to decide whether or not to withdraw the resignation already submitted. After doing so, it becomes your primary responsibility to return the company's assets, obtain a No Due certificate from the relevant department, file your claim forms for final settlement, and wait, perhaps a month after lockdown, for any further instructions. In this challenging situation, when everyone is grappling with the effects of COVID-19, you have no choice but to wait for things to fall into place.
