Hi all, I worked for a BPO company for 12 months and resigned from the company without serving the notice period due to a better job opportunity that required immediate joining for a marketing role. The company informed me that they would not provide a relieving letter but accepted my resignation.

I recently resigned from the marketing job due to medical issues, and the company agreed to the resignation without serving the notice period, considering my health condition.

I have now secured a new job with a different company and wish to start immediately, but they are requesting the relieving letter from my previous company.

I resigned from my second company on November 6th and will receive the relieving letter after the full and final settlement.

My first company has agreed to provide me with an experience certificate.

I would appreciate your assistance in understanding if there is any possibility of obtaining the relieving letter.

It is always advisable to properly relieve oneself from any organization after fulfilling the notice period clause. The purpose of the notice period is to complete pending work, hand over responsibilities, and provide some breathing time for the current employer to look for a replacement.

In your case, you have submitted your resignation and informed your employer about your inability to serve the proper notice. I suggest visiting your old employer's HR in person to explain the situation. Let them know that you are willing to compensate for the unserved notice period (usually one month's gross salary in most companies, or please check your past employer's employment terms) and request the issuance of a relieving order. They may consider your request.
