Hello Sir/Madam, I am working in a pharmaceutical company with 10 employees and 2 office boys. Now, these office boys go out of the office for work like bringing raw materials or taking the finished products to clients' offices in the city. While on duty outside the office, they eat their lunch in some restaurant/dhabba/wada-pav stall. Later, they ask for money from the accountant for the meals, petrol, etc.

Meal and Miscellaneous Allowances

Is there any meal allowance or other miscellaneous allowance, or some form for that, so that we can track how much money they have taken from accounts? Or is there any set limit beyond which these office boys can't spend? Please help.

Hi Sneha,

There is no set limit for food allowance; it entirely depends on your policy and the organization's level. Yes, they can request amounts for food and petrol as they are engaged in office work. You can discuss this with your admin department and establish a limit for the office boy's allowance. To track their expenses, you can request them to submit bills.

Thanks
