I am looking for advice on HR professional growth. I have 3 years of experience in HR with recruitment and HR Generalist activities. Currently based out of Kuwait and hence looking for some career advice. Should I go for SHRM certification? Or is SAP HR beneficial?

Any other advice would be highly helpful.

Hi Shivangi,

Firstly, you need to complete your PG or degree in HR. Since you are handling an HR generalist profile, SAP HR will be more beneficial for you.

SAP HR is a widely used HR tool/software by most of the top companies. Secondly, it is user-friendly and an efficient, need-based HR tool.

If you wish to be an HR specialist in areas like L&D or talent acquisition, you can pursue SHRM certification for different modules.

Regards and thanks,

I am not aware of the HR industry in Kuwait, but let me speak about the Indian SAP Market. It has become saturated with no room for freshers. Recruiters seek only experienced SAP candidates with a minimum of 3 years of end-to-end implementation experience in finance, marketing, sales, HR, or production. In this scenario, most SAP institutes provide fake experience for students so they can enter the SAP industry as consultants, as end-user jobs are limited.

However, learning SAP is a good option to enhance your knowledge. I wish you all the best of success.

Thanks and Regards, Akash Sharma
