I was recently requested to do a competency mapping exercise for a local organization. A consultant friend of mine advised that it's best done with tools that enable one to objectively compare the competency to a desired level using scores. She argued that interviewing high performers opens the door for all manner of subjective feedback. Following that, I have two questions.
1. Can anyone shed more light on what these tools are and give me some that I can use.
2. Are competency mapping and competency modeling two different things?
3. If so, what is the primary difference between them?
Many thanks. I have used this site before and got a lot of help so am hoping the same will repeat. Thanks for your assistance in this regard.
