Documents Required for Creating a PF Account

When an employee joins a new employer after resigning from a previous organization, what documents does the new employer need to collect from the employee to create a PF account in the new organization? Does the new employee need to provide their PAN number to the PF department for creating the new PF account? Or is it sufficient for the new employer to send the UAN number of the new employee to the PF department for creating a new PF account?

Dear Anonymous,

The PF account of an employee is created by the employer at the time of joining, not the PF Field Office. The employer would require the UAN or PF number along with Aadhaar details. In case the UAN is not linked to the Aadhaar card, the new employer will link it at the time of registration.
