Hi All,
Today, we had a labor inspection at our office (an IT Company). The labor officer requested various registers that need to be submitted for inspection. Since we didn't have them immediately, the labor officer asked us to submit them next week. Could you please assist us with the list of registers and documents that need to be submitted?

IT companies are exempted from maintaining manual registers in Tamil Nadu. Please refer to relevant provisions in the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act. However, such registers should be made available in the system.
You can provide the following:
1. Attendance output for a month until the date of inspection
2. Payroll statement for the previous month
3. List of employees with their designation, rate of salary, and address
4. Leave register, if you can take a printout
To start with, this will suffice. If more information is requested, then verify if it is necessary. For example, if your company is less than 5 years old, you may not have a gratuity register. There is no need to produce any overtime register initially.
Thanks,
T. Sivasankaran
