Dear sir,
Under ESI, one of our women employees (married) wants to get an e-Pehchan Card. Her husband is already working in another company and has an ESI e-Pehchan Card that does not include her name. She is pregnant and wishes to obtain an ESI Card to avail of maternity leave and for maternity purposes. She is eligible for maternity benefits under ESI.
Options for Providing e-Pehchan Card
(i) Should we provide an e-Pehchan Card to her only
[OR]
(ii) Should we provide an e-Pehchan Card to her and her husband only
[OR]
(iii) Should we provide an e-Pehchan Card to her, her husband, and her parents (her father and mother) only
[OR]
(iv) Should we ask her to enroll her name along with her husband's ESI e-Pehchan Card, even though her husband is not our employee? She is our only employee.
Eligibility for Family Members
Who are the family members eligible to be included in her ESI e-Pehchan Card? Can family members' names (the same name) exist/reflect in two different e-Pehchan Cards?
Please clarify.
Thanks with regards,
T. Thirumurugan.
