Hi Everyone,
I have a marketing team, and we are giving a tablet to each person to do their job in the market. However, for security purposes, management wants me to collect their original certificates so that an employee cannot run away from the organization with the tablet.
Please give me your suggestions on what other options I can implement here.

Withholding the certificates of an employee is illegal. You can ask them to submit their original government ID proof and have their place of stay verified by a team, whether they stay in a rented place or they or their parents own the house. Also, get their signature on the company letterhead stating they have taken the company-owned property for official purposes.
Please include the technical specifications of the tablet, model, make, item code, etc., on the letterhead. By doing this, the employee will not easily plan to abscond from the company with the company-owned property. If he/she does, then you should tag him/her as a "Dare Devil" :)
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Thank you.

Hi Mahr,
Thank you so much for your great suggestion. It helps me a lot to manage this situation. Nowadays, it's very easy to obtain a new address proof. Anyone can leave the company by submitting their ID/Address proof and later create a new proof. Can I accept a cheque in this situation?
