Hi All, Why does one need to submit form 10c at the time of exit along with form 19? What are the repercussions if only form 19 is submitted for withdrawal..

PF and Pension are two different schemes under the EPF & MP Act. There is one more scheme called the Insurance Fund. All these schemes are independent and administered separately; therefore, you are required to fill out separate forms for claims under each.

If you want, you can keep the pension in the account without claiming it in Form 10C. It will remain in your account. At a later date, it can be transferred to the latest PF Pension account. You can do that. There is no compulsion that you have to submit Form 19 and 10C together.

Form 10C is used for both withdrawal benefits (from the pension fund) as well as the Scheme Certificate. If you are not withdrawing the amount, kindly apply for the scheme certificate, in which the details of service/remittance to the pension fund will be recorded. Otherwise, there may be difficulties at the last minute.

Pension Eligibility and Form 10C Requirement

After the completion of 10 years of service, a pension becomes applicable to the employee. In addition, to verify superannuation or retirement of the employee, Form 10C is necessary to fill out. It is required to obtain a Scheme Certificate against our Pension Fund accumulation.

As the EPF, EPS (Earlier FPF), and EDLI schemes are different and independent schemes implemented and administered under the Employees' Provident Fund & Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, different forms are required for their settlement. In the changing scenario of information and technology and the implementation of KYC/UAN, an all-in-one form, either offline or online, may be possible.
