Hi everybody,

I need a format for a condolence letter (professional). I searched it online but couldn't find a good one. In case you have any formats for the same, kindly forward them to me. Or suggest a website from where I could get a professional condolence letter.

Thanking you in advance.

Dear Skg,

If you are into HRM, never use a standard condolence letter format. It would be best if you tried to understand enough about the person, the bereaved, the event, etc., and write sincerely from the heart.

Referring to President Lincoln's letter to Mrs. Bixby, who lost all her sons in the Civil War:

Executive Mansion,
Washington, Nov. 21, 1864.

Dear Madam,--

I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement from the Adjutant General of Massachusetts indicating that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle.

I realize how feeble and inadequate any words of mine would be to alleviate you from the profound grief of such an overwhelming loss. However, I feel compelled to offer you some solace that may be found in the gratitude of the Republic for which they sacrificed their lives.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may ease the pain of your bereavement, leaving you with only the treasured memories of your loved ones and the solemn pride that is rightfully yours for having made such a significant sacrifice for the cause of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

A. Lincoln

Hope this helps,

Sheenkp
