Dear Sai Ji, Thanks for sharing. However, I believe there is a minor change in the EDLI benefit. According to the amendment dated 8th January 2011, in the event of the death of an employee who was a member of the scheme at the time of death, the family will receive 20 times the average wages of the last 12 months of the member. According to the revised scheme, the maximum benefits under the scheme are now Rs. 1,30,000/- (not Rs. 60,000 mentioned in the PPT), as the wage ceiling up to which contributions can be paid under the scheme is Rs. 6,500/-. Please correct me if I am wrong.
